A little bit of Fame

Day 11

May 19th

Thursday was a day I will never forget. The entire justice studies groups dressed up in their nicest outfits to spend one last day of fun with Constable Watson. Little to our surprise, the reason we all were all told to wear our absolute best, was because we were going to go to Buckingham Place an watch the changing of the guards. But, we didn't just get to watch, we actually got to go inside the gates of the Royal Place. I had never seen anything like it. We we got to the place there were thousands of people surrounding the fences and gates wishing they could get the chance to go in. So when the Constables opened the gates for us and we all walked by everyone to go inside, I could see the look on their face just wondering who are these kids. They must have thought we were someone really important or famous because they kept taking pictures of us while we walked by; it was really something to experience. The changing of the guards was an awesome sight to see as well, but those few moments of fame were really something else.

After visiting Buckingham Place, we all regrouped and met up at the New Scotland Yard. Several Constables were waiting there to give us presentations on the up coming Olympics, the Caribbean Carnival and the funny difference between American Police and British Police. One of the constables even had an Olympic torch from the last Olympic in Canada and we got the chance to hold it. It was really a special opportunity for all of us, I doubt we will ever have another chance to hold an Olympic torch again in our life.
