Cameras and Defense Tactics

Day 4

Alright so today  the justice studies groups went back to the Metropolitan Police Service. This time we learned how the London dispatch stations operate and how the Metropolitan Police train their officers defense tactics.
At the dispatch station, we were given a the quick presentation on how incidents are handled when a call comes in and what is done after it comes in. After the presentation we were taken on a tour of the facility and actually saw the dispatchers at work and we saw the command center for London's security cameras. I learned on this trip that the United Kingdom has so many hidden cameras that there is 1 camera for ever8 people that live there. For the cameras in London this facility is one of a few that has access to what is captured by these cameras.

After visiting one of the dispatch centers of the Metro Police, we went across town where we got a bite to eat and a chance to learn how a officer can use defense tactics to control a criminal. There were many volunteers who participated in learning how to use these tactics which gave every one a good  laugh....... it was really a great time.

Well that is kind of what happened here in London on day four, Ill catch up with you tomorrow again, I get to go to Scotland, it should be a great time.

Oh and today I  had the chance to sleep in an extra 60 minutes before heading out.... It was wonderful... when your internal time clock is off 7 hours 60 minutes feels pretty good......  :
